Is this "The Year of Pharrell"?
The Grammy award winning singer, producer and artist is everywhere doing the most and doing it well! First he came out with arguably the most infectious song and (24 hour long) video for the chart topping single, "Happy". He then confused some people and made a few fashion insiders chuckle by rocking his vintage Vivienne Westwood hat to the Grammy's. Then he teamed up with Japanese label, Comme des Garcons on a unisex perfume called "Girl" (also the title of his new album)... And now it has been announced (just in time for Earth Day- April 22nd) that Pharrell will collaborate with Adidas Originals on an earth friendly fashion line with his textiles company Bionic Yarn- a company that makes materials out of plastic ocean debris and recycled bottles to create yarn and fabrics. The line is expected to roll out this summer and will be an ongoing collab. This of course, is not Pharrell's first foray into fashion- the stylish pop icon also has his own line called The Billionaire Boys Club; he has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Moncler and Uniqulo and owned a now defunct skate/sneaker line called Ice Cream. We see you Skateboard P! * Watch the commercial here.
