That being said, I'm excited to announce the debut of The Adventures of Fab Jenkins, the webseries I had the pleasure of working on last year is now available in it's entirety on YouTube! I can't even describe how much fun and creative freedom I had on that set! Creator Erin Johnson and director Jasmine Golphin really trusted me and allowed me to take full advantage of the wacky but stylish characters which is almost unheard of dealing with costume on any production.
Many of the clothes you see belong to the actors, but a lot of pieces were sourced from various places including vintage stores, thrift stores, boutiques and even the dollar store. Some I even made- see the kid's 90's puffy paint tees lol. I rounded it out with wardrobe and accessories from my own collection to make every character sartorially unique. Here is a synopsis of the series from the website fabjenkins.com:
The Adventures of Fab Jenkins is a Blaxploitation-inspired web comedy following the journey of Cleveland-based stylist, Fabio “Fab” Jenkins.Fab, with the help of his Fab Squad, must save the city from an onslaught of bad fashion caused by the expansion of fast fashion retailer, Eternally 16.
We had fun shooting on location around the city of Cleveland, so if you are local, try to guess the areas where we filmed (or just visit the website and see for yourself lol). Watch episode one above, enjoy the BTS photos below, watch all the episodes on YouTube and tell me what you think!
