I love coming to festivals and people watching. It's almost like a fashion focus group where you get a chance to see all the latest looks in fashion, beauty and accessories and how people are putting them together. Basically real style in real time... Although Cleveland is still riding high off that Cavs win and many people were rocking their Championship shirts and other team paraphernalia, the major trends I saw were colorful dashikis, wildly patterned pants, brightly printed sundresses and of course plenty of denim looks, including much to my surprise- overalls. There was lots of tie dye too, in homage to the popular reggae band Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S band that played that evening I'm sure.
Natural hair was worn by man, woman and child in so many different styles it was hard to keep up! There were braids, twists, afros, locs and crotchet looks in so many different colors and styles. There were short platinum blond cuts, bright sew ins, relaxed hair divas rockin sun hats and elegant updos and so much more.
Accessories were big and bright too- look at me sunglasses, large chunky necklaces, huge gold hoops and drop chandelier earrings. Cocktail rings adorned fingers and metallic bracelets wrapped around wrists in various degrees of seriousness and playfulness that are reserved for fun sunny evenings kicked back listening to reggae music with strangers.
Above are some of the people with awesome style I just had to capture (with their permission!) and post on the blog!
