Shapewear can be so confusing! Which is why I called on Samantha (Sam) Walker, my homegirl in fashion, fellow blogger, runway queen and fashion show host to ask if she could write a guest blog post to help break down shapewear for us curvy girls. As a plus size model that is always on the go, constantly photographed and spotted at a variety of events around Cleveland, Sam is definitely a shapewear expert, so read on to see what she has to say...
Cleveland, Ohio fashion designer and show producer Vaughn Glover is what I would call a "designer's designer", meaning his sewing skills and techniques coupled with his superior manipulation of fabrics and detailing make him a favorite among those in the industry, but the same skills help entertain and wow a local crowd of fashionistas at his annual fashion shows. This year at the The #Highsewciety Sewcial Runway of Life show presented by Waki Wear Productions on March 24th, 2019, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Beachwood, Ohio was no different.
I have a confession. I am a former shopaholic, an online fashion stylist and I work for an online styling app- but I refuse to shop online! First of all, I'm a big girl who needs to try things on to see how fabrics stretch, feel and smell IN PERSON! Second of all, I'm impatient AF- if I give you money, I want my goods or services placed right in front of me immediately (main reason I stopped my magazine subscriptions too haha) and last but not least- I have been BURNED before by receiving the wrong item, or something else off that made me say #neveragain.
But then I "met" Columbus, Ohio fashion designer, creator and blogger Nia Grain (@niagrain) on Instagram and she agreed to write a guest post with valuable tips on how to help your online shopping experience run smoothly and now I'm feeling safe enough to try to score a piece or two online- maybe...
Costume designer Sharen Davis may not be a household name, but her work sure is! The two time Oscar nominated former actress from Louisiana got her start in the early 90's and is a frequent collaborator to actor Denzel Washington- working with him at least five or more times. Read on to find out more about this talented costume designer...
It's super cold right now, and as I glance out my window I can see that my street is blanketed with enough snow for me to have to put on my heavy boots and not the cute ones I wore on Sunday to Ms. DeeDee's 44th Annual Fashion Show! I didn't care how much snow was on the ground, I wasn't about to miss this event, and I could tell by the amount of extra chairs needed at the venue for the sold out crowd that I wasn't the only one, and if you have ever been to any of Ms. DeeDee's past shows then you know exactly why.
