I'm super late with it, but I did at least want to share the photos from the St. Patrick's Day Style show I had at Anatomy Nightclub on March 17th. DJ Jack da Rippa invited me and my girls to show off sexy spring looks that I styled using a mix of the model's wardrobe, my own items and clothes borrowed from Tiffany Avenue Boutique. As usual, I styled some of the models via text and video, but the majority of them got styled and fitted an hour before the show actually started. I had all ladies- perfect for the mostly male hip hop crowd- and they strutted out to Used to This by Future and Drake and Swang by Rae Sremmund. Another fun style show produced by the House of Fly! Harmoni Stone has a long list of fun hobbies including acting, kung fu, salsa dancing, and yoga- but she is serious about modeling and has been for the past five years. In fact the New York born model is the first to sign up for The House of Fly Model Portal, an online portfolio for working models who need a website to showcase their work. Make sure to check out Harmoni's page and read ahead for her answers to All the Fly Questions... HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START? I got started by getting discovered by a modeling agency agent while I was attending a fair in Warren, Ohio. WHEN DID YOU GET YOUR “BIG BREAK”? I am still waiting and working towards my "big break". I have been blessed with modeling opportunities to help prepare me for my break. It would be acting in a film and be on the cover of Health, Shape, or Vogue magazines. WHAT INSPIRES YOU Seeing dark skinned women of color modeling in a variety of avenues- magazines, and acting in commercials/movies/daytime shows. WHY DID YOU OR WHY DID YOU NOT MOVE? I left New York because of college. However, my long term goal is to live outside of the United States. I love to explore different cultures. WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH? I would love to model and be in a film project with Naomi Campbell & Lupita Nyong'o. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A SHOOT OR SHOW? I prepare by watching videos and looking through magazines of professional models, work with my runway coach, practice and pray... WHOSE CLOSET WOULD YOU LIKE TO RAID (GOOD OR BAD) AND WHY?
Naomi Campbell because I know she has received some beautiful garments from different designers she had worked with. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OFF IN YOUR INDUSTRY? My motto is- "Every no is closer to hearing a yes." You have to be patience and willing to put yourself out there for hearing the no's. Work hard and be pleasant to everyone you work with. No one wants to work with a diva! WHERE CAN WE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR WORK? Instagram: Harmonistone1 Portfolio: Harmoni Stone POSTPONED UNTIL JUNE 4, 2017....
