Valentine's Day is coming up this weekend! Some of you may have a bae, but some of us don't... Oh well! Don't sit at home watching sappy chick flicks while eating ALLL the chocolate- grab your squad, dress down in a cute tee-shirt and jeans, throw on some heels and follow these tips to have a fun Galentine's Day celebration with your stylish homegirls!
*Obviously have Rihanna or Beyonce playing as the soundtrack to your night- no sad love lost type tunes- I'm looking at you Adele... 1. Browse Pinterest and look up DIY face and lip scrubs, then raid your the cabinets for brown sugar, salt, baking soda and oils. 2. Everybody should bring their own makeup bags and their favorite color palettes and take turns trying your friends items (wipe products and brushes with alcohol pads!) 3. Look through Youtube hair and makeup tutorials for the most glam looks for your particular hair and skin type. Give each other makeovers using the new makeup and hair techniques you learned. 4. Make them stop and stare by going out to dinner together looking all dolled up in the face and casual about the waist lol 5. Record the whole process and upload it to Snapchat, YouTube or Periscope as your own personal #squadgoals scrapbook! Don't forget to take lots of photos!! Why not even make it a slumber party by going to dinner, and then come back back home and watch those chick flicks TOGETHER while eating chocolates and make plans for brunch the next morning... #Squadgoals accomplished!

Plus is a Must: Designer Rachel Roy is debuting her new brand RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy at Macy's.com and select Macy's stores this week! The 45 piece collection covers sizes 14-24 and ranges from $55-$179 and is signature Roy with sophisticated prints and bold colors in silhouettes that drape nicely over the body. It's cool that the collection is an exact duplicate (with slight altercations) of the straight size line and that she used plus sized model Candice Huffine to make sure the fit was right. This year will be a big one for Roy whose book "Design Your Life" will be published in March, and in September she will relaunch the Rachel Roy designer collection- the older sister to her contemporary Rachel Rachel Roy collection that she was forced to discontinue in 2014. See more photos here...
Out with The Old: Burberry keeps changing the game- literally this time by doing away with the traditional fashion calendar. Starting this September instead of showing the standard four collections per year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter for both men and women) the British brand will now combine the two and will show twice- seasonless collections called "February" and "September" in an attempt to globally reach out to non-Western markets. The collections will also become available in stores and online immediately after showing and the digital and print campaigns will launch right after the shows end. You can read more about the move here.... In With the New: It was recently announced that Tom Ford and Parisian brand Vetements have also chosen not to follow the traditional fashion calendar and have implemented there own runway/retail model for the following seasons. Ford will stage his Fall/Winter 2016 men's and womenswear collection in September- closer to the actual time of needing to purchase fall/winter clothing- and starting in 2017, Vetements, the up and coming French label will show men's and women's collections in January and June in between the couture shows. Read more about it on Dazeddigital.com. She Don't Play, She Slay: After her cold ass Superbowl 50 performance of "Formation" last night, Beyonce has released merchandise all with the lyrics to her new song on Beyonce.com. She has an "I Twirl On Them Haters" sweatshirt , two tees, a hat, a tote bag that reads "I Got Hot Sauce in My Bag" and an I-phone case available ranging from $25-$60. All the items are available on Beyonce.com. Cruelty Free Fashion was one of my very first fashion videos! I did it cause I was simply tired of doing photo shoots where the models were just posing. I saw all the high fashion brands do them and tbh they were boring AF lol. I wanted ACTION and lots of it! Why not stage a faux catfight between two models and have them use fashionable weapons of destruction to attack each other lol? I wrote a very short script, called models Quecyon and Meme, borrowed garments from Kole Steel (Tramp Boutique) arranged hair and makeup with Teresa and Falisha, and got my home girl Jasmine to shoot and edit it. Oh, and her brother Christian choreographed the awesome fight scenes so the project was very homegrown and easy to complete. The ladies picked up the movements quickly and were great sports about it all. Everything was done at the Design Lab studio and we did it all in one day. Every single person that contributed did their part and made this one of the coolest shoots I had done in at that point. It was sooo much fun to shoot and makes me want to do another one soon! Watch other fashion videos here and see more photos here! How many times have you gone through your wardrobe while simultaneously checking your Instagram or other social media page to see what you have already been photographed in?
No, not you Lol? OK well still here are three ways to wear one dress... and if it is you then girl you better learn how to stretch your wardrobe and make it work for you! Ain't nobody got time to go broke by shopping unecessarily for the 'gram! Say you have a little black dress (every woman should btw) and it may be sleeveless so you feel like you can't wear it until spring or summer rolls around again- pshhhh you better pull that dress out the back of your closet! Look #1 Try wearing the dress with a white tee shirt underneath it along with a pair of fleece lined printed tights and a tough leather jacket. Add some cute black booties to complete the look and go kick it with your girls while taking "usies" all night! Look #2 It's ya birthday, it's your birthday! Or it's somebody's birthday and you want to look fly, classy and keep warm so find those metallic printed tights or leggings, a long sleeve black tee and throw a fabulous fur vest over it to make the look scream "sophisticated fun"! Complete your outfit by adding a pair of the baddest heels you own and sashay shante away to the corner with the best lighting to take all the selfies you want! Look #3 Casual #datenightwithbae? Throw on your LBD and put a cute crop top over it or even a plaid or denim shirt tied at the waist. Go bare legged with a pair of knee high boots or wear your black tights with the outfit for added warmth. Don't forget to add earrings, a necklace, a few bracelets and some rings to complete the look. Cuddle up with bae and work on your #relationshipgoals selfie while looking stylishly cute. Would you wear any of these outfits? Do you need help putting outfits together? Don't forget to check out my services page if you need help styling or creating outfits! |
