In between doing hair in her salon, creating apps, uploading hair tutorials on her website, celebrating the five year anniversary of her Studio Lux hair salon in Cleveland aaaaand the grand opening of Studio Lux Texas- Ronnita made time to answer All the Fly Questions via email: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING HAIR? I started the hobby at the age of 13, then made it a career at the age of 18 and became a true professional a few years later. Studio Lux Salon has been in business 5 years and we just expanded to Houston, TX, this year. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SO FAR? My biggest accomplishment to this day is relocating and expanding my business. Taking a big risk not knowing what the outcome would be. God knew what he was doing. WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU? There's so many people in the industry that inspired me, but most of all my mentor is everything, Rhonda O'Neal. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? I loving spending spare time with family and friends. The simple things mean the most to me. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OFF IN YOUR INDUSTRY? My advice to anyone starting off in my industry would be to get to know your craft and build a solid brand... Invest in yourself and build a team, this is very important because we cannot do everything! Focus more on what you're good at and hire professionals to do what you can't do. WHAT ARE YOUR GO TO PIECES? My go to pieces is my hat and blazer, two of my favorite things. WHERE DO YOU SHOP? I love H&M!   Ronnita was one of two hairstylists on my Fellini inspired fashion short film/lookbook "Going Places". WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU REFUSE TO WEAR? I will not wear a belly shirt! FAVE DESIGNER OR FASHION HOUSE? My favorite local designer is Dee Hayes. WHOSE CLOSET WOULD YOU LIKE TO RAID? I would love to raid Kim Kardashian's closet. DO YOU HAVE A FAVE SONG TO GET READY TO? I'll get ready to anything Beyonce, everyone knows this lol. WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU? I'm working on my brand and I want it to live on after me... What you said was totally right; you need to find the perfect shade that matches your skin complexion. If you have a fair skin, then you must be lucky because almost all shades will fit you. But this doesn't mean that exploring different shades is not for ladies who have dark skin! You just proved to everyone that drag and unusually shades of lipsticks are also good for you.
