Marshall Jackson, fashion blogger and creator of JUNKCouture shades...

Meet Marshall Jackson, designer of eclectic eye wear brand JUNKCouture Shades which he started in his dorm room almost seven years ago with a "potluck of random materials". With the help of his best friend Jerod Ellington, Jackson has been able to build a very fashionable eye wear brand that has been carried in boutiques like Exclusive Eyewear in NYC, Alessandro Gold, a concept store in Miami and an opportunity to work with stylists (including myself, photos below are from our collab shoot back in 2013!) for product pulls. This flyguy has parlayed his love of fashion and style into becoming a male fashion blogger- a rarity in this industry so of course I had to ask him All the Fly Questions.... 

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
My hobbies include getting dressed of course, thrift shopping, documenting my looks on my website, and making Youtube videos encompassing personal style.
WHAT DOES FLY MEAN TO YOU?
Fly is being eclectic with your styling. Being fly sets you apart from being trendy.
WHERE DO YOU SHOP?
I shop just about everywhere from Zara, Thrift, Asos, TopShop, American Apparel, and did I say Thrfiting?!

DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE...
My personal style is unstable; I have so many different style of clothing, which allow me to create a plethora of looks. I favor a more 80’s and 90’s type of look day to day. I also like to add a futuristic/militant touch to my look as well. More recently I’ve been more casual than usual with my newfound love of trench coats!
WHAT ARE YOUR GO TO PIECES?
My go-to pieces is my studded shoulder army jacket by UNIF, my thrifted pilot jumpsuit, YSL trench coat, tan jungle boots, and my custom light wash distressed Levis.
WHO ARE YOUR TOP 5 STYLE ICONS?
​Rihanna, Jeremy Scott, Pharrell Williams, Iris Apfel, and Carmen Dell’Orefice.

WHAT WAS  YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT GROWING UP?
I had a denim diamond patchwork jacket and matching jeans in middle school. I thought I was the flyest in school.
WHOSE CLOSET WOULD YOU LIKE TO RAID?
​I would love to raid Pharrell Williams closet because I just know he has so many unique items from eclectic hats and dope jackets.  Plus I know he has a big show collection and would like to take about 30 of the superstar pack Adidas.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OFF?
I would advise them to stay original because it’s the only way to set you apart for others. Secondly, is to be persistent which can be a challenge but people will forget about you in a second. Lastly, you have to keep up with the times and consistently evolve.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU?
My next move is to create my own Apparel brand and build my Youtube Channel.
