It has been unseasonably "warm" here in Cleveland, Ohio, and at the time of this post, we haven't even gotten any snow yet! Here we are in January and while there is still no snow- the hawk is out! The wind ain't no joke- I live close by the lake and feel like we are always 20 degrees colder than everybody else so I have to get creative when it comes to looking cute and staying warm. Read ahead to see how I do it...
Fun Fur Coat
Is there anything more fierce and glamorous than a fun faux fur coat? I don't think so! Whether you wear one over a long slinky gown or pair it with a graphic tee, your favorite jeans and a pair of ankle boots- all eyes will be on you when you step out, so make sure you can handle it!
Beanie or beret style, the best way to keep warm is to cover your head! The most trendy look of the season is the beanie hat with a faux fur pom pom or two, but other styles look just as good! If you have natural hair, protect your edges with a silk or satin scarf before applying your hat or your hair will eventually break off around the perimeter.
Maybe you are not a hat person, you sweat too much in the head or your hairstyle won't work with a hat plopped on it. That's why the earmuff was invented! And the modern styles come in a variety of colors and textures, but my favorite is definitely the super soft rabbit version.
There have been times this season where it was too warm for a heavy winter coat- a long sleeve shirt and an oversize scarf are just enough to keep you nice and toasty. Or if it gets super cold in your school or office, a huge colorful scarf beats dragging around a grubby blanket any day lol.
I can't lie- I am not a fan of gloves, because they are like socks for your hands and I hate anything that cloaks my fingers in cloth, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet or get frostbite. At least they have some really cute styles available now...
