Not too many people were feeling the usually uber stylish Pharrell Williams' Grammy outfit- including his oversize mountain hat. Pretty much everyone went in online and clowned him, but it seems as though fashion loving Pharrell might be the one laughing at us. That hat was a reference from British designer Vivienne Westwood's fall 1982/83 Nostalgia of Mud and the Buffalo collection and has deep musical roots. If you know anything about what Malcolm McLaren and Westwood did for the Sex Pistols, then maybe you can "appreciate" Pharrell's sartorial choice, or maybe not... The Cut has more info about the hat here.
I no longer watch any awards shows, but when I did, it was only for the fashion lol! But even I could not deny the beautiful newcomer Lupita Nyong'o outfitted in her elegant Gucci gown this past weekend at the SAG awards. Her skin glowed, she was styled to perfection, and to me no one else even mattered- but for the rest of you Refinery 29 has a recap of their best dressed list here. Who was a style winner to you?
Just a few days after actress Lena Dunham's Vogue cover hit the web, critics went in on her closely cropped photo and the heavily Photoshopped images on the inside of the magazine. It prompted Jezebel.com to offer up $10,000 to Vogue, Dunham, and photographer Annie Leibovitz for the un-edited versions- two hours later the request was granted and Jezebel received all the photos and decided to pick them a part. You can see more "before and after" photos on there site...
This is major! Lena Dunham of Girls fame is in the cover of Vogue!! Why is that big news? Because legendary editrix Anna Wintour is notoriously vocal about weight and health issues,
even urging staff members and the Rodarte designers to lose pounds... Of course Lena's cover is closely cropped, typical Anna lol. Head over to Vogue.com to read more.
Willow Smith is back! The quirky dressing daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is inside the new issue of V magazine, styled and photographed by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. Willow appears in designs by Chanel, Givenchy and her own pieces, and discusses her small hiatus from the industry. Want more pics from the shoot? Head over to theybf to see them!
